Wandering the streets, we are passing through cars, malls ,skyscrapers and we don’t see them…we are drown in the pollution in cities and they are lost in the fog of ignorance…. we’re busy looking up when someone under our eye-levels needs to be seen…leaning against the walls of one of these tall skyscrapers in the city…we even forget their existence and they seem to be more like a deep silence in our cities…

There is a silence in the city needs to be heard…

When we look downward into cities there are people who live behind curtains of the city. The people that live in the streets but we got used to their existence as parts of cities. Due to the different juridical definitions and statistical indexes for homelessness, it is highly controversial to determine how many homeless people there are in the world. At a conservative estimate, declared by United Nations in 2005, puts the number of homeless at 100 million. Even the most advanced countries have to deal with the problem of homelessness. After the economic recession in 2008 more than ever people have been made homeless and it means that there are men, women and children in the cities that need help. Most of them have lost their jobs, their homes and their dignity and left alone in the streets… now the question is “What happens to those people?”…”what do they do?”….and the main question is “What will happen to the people who are born in the streets?” children who do not have the chance to experience living a regular life in their home like others… what do they expect from the city and society they live in and by?

Maybe all they want is a place for a new beginning…

More than 71 percent of homeless people in the world live in the central areas of the cities. In the same streets and near the big blocks of our apartments and we have easily got used to the fact that they exist among us. When we walk down the streets in our cities all we notice is a huge, tall building around us. Architecture talks to people in the cities. But what do they talk about?
Skyscrapers as one of the most noticeable urban elements are always understood as the icon for the wealth and advanced technology. But they can play much more important roles than being just a tall indifferent building in cities…
Skyscraper can be more than a building…

Most of time we are too busy with our every-days life to notice the world around us. There are some moments that we can take a break from our busy life and think about what is happening around us.  Skyscrapers can talk to people who look upward and it may have them look downward too, to see what happens on the ground .They can be one of the crucial Medias of cities that can attract people’s attention; people who walk or drive or generally live in the cities…

Skyscraper can be a Media for the people who need to be taken care of…

It’s not just about homeless people. It’s more about how people can care about each other in cities and how can support each other during hard times.  We almost know about the number of homeless people live in the streets but god knows how many hopeless live in our streets. Skyscrapers can be people’s shelter but they cannot spread hope in the society just by themselves. There must be people who inject love and kindness in our streets then skyscraper can be rose by people’s hand…
